The Putnam County Sheriff's Office is warning citizens about a calling claiming to represent Publisher's Clearing House asked someone money in order to claim a prize.
"This is a scam!" the Sheriff's Office posted on its Facebook page.

Publishers Clearing House will never ask for you to send money to claim your prize and will not contact you by telephone.
Publishers Clearing House also provides a fraud-protection page for more information. And the Federal Trade Commission also provides specific information about this scam.
If you receive one of these calls, hang up and report it to the Federal Trade Commission.
