Discount warehouse deals and duds

They're a one-stop-shop for all your goods. But before you breeze down the discount aisle, let us help you navigate

The first warehouse deal: designer watches. You might not find a Rolex, but top brands will be available, without the 70-percent markup.

You can also score big on televisions. Research from Kiplinger shows some warehouses offer the same brands for up to $400 less.

Tires are also a good grab. You can find discounts of up to 20-percent off per tire

You can also save on certain beers. At Costco for example, you can grab a 24-pack of Heineken for about 10-percent less.

Another good buy: caskets. The average metal casket costs $2,300 at a funeral home and is often the biggest funeral expense. We found a casket for under $1,000 on Costco's website.

As for the duds, let's start with diamonds. Many stones aren't branded so you never know if the cost is equal to the grade.

Another dud: appliances. If you wait until holiday weekends, you can find appliances at a deeper discount with smaller retailers.
