JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The man accused of five murders in Mayport just before Memorial Day told police he killed another man.

Police said William Wells (pictured right) admitted to them he is a mass murder, and recently told them he dumped the body of a sixth victim in water near his Mayport mobile home where he kept the bodies of the others he admitted to killing. Police believe Wells murdered five people over an 11-day period that ended just before Memorial Day. The bodies were found in his mobile home after a police standoff.

Welles is charged in the murders of his wife, Irene Wells; Irene's father, Bill McMains; Irene's brother, John McMains; her friend, Richard Reese; and an acquaintance of Welles', James Young.

Welles has asked to forgo a trial. He wants to be put to death.
