Westside Kangaroo Store Robber Sought

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville police are looking for a man who robbed a Kangaroo Express store on the Westside on Sunday morning.

Police said the man went into the store in the 1000 block of McDuff Avenue about 6:30 a.m. and tried to buy something, when the store clerk told him he didn't have enough money for the item.

Police said the robber then tried to buy two separate items until he found something he could afford. When the register opened and the store clerk looked up to give the man his change, the man was pointing a black revolver at the clerk, police said.

The robber demanded money from the register, and then he leaned over the counter and took the money and fled, police said.

The robber is described as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 140 pounds. He was seen leaving on a black beach cruiser-style bicycle.
