MACCLENNY, Fla. – Baker County Sheriff's deputies put a Macclenny Walmart store under lockdown Sunday night to search for a missing child. Officers have reason to believe it was all a hoax.
Employers at the Walmart off of State Road 228 said a woman called the store around 5:45 p.m. The woman claimed she left her 2-year-old daughter at the store and would return to pick her up. Deputies responded and placed the store under a lockdown.

Sheriff Joey Dobson said officers spent about two hours questioning employers, checking vehicles as they left the store and reviewing surveillance video. Officers could not find any evidence of a missing child.
"We watched video, all the video, an hour before and an hour after to look for a 2-year-old blond-headed girl with a pink bow in her hair, and we have seen nothing like this," Dobson said.
Officers have lifted the lockdown and called off the search.
In an attempt to track the woman's phone number, Dobson said the woman called from a cell phone, and it could not be located.
