Man holds up Hess Express early Wednesday

Jacksonville Sheriff's Office releases photo, asks for help finding robber

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police are asking for help finding an armed robber who held up the Hess Express store on Cassat Avenue just after midnight Wednesday morning.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says a man walked in the store and was in the process of purchasing a Black & Mild cigar, but when the cashier opened the cash drawer, he reached over the counter, grabbed money from the drawer and threatened to shoot the cashier.

The man indicated during the robbery that he had a gun.

He left and drove away in a gold and silver Nissan Altima.

The robber was described as a black man between 20 and 35 years old, between 6 feet 1 and 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing between 190 and 215 pounds. He was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt during the robbery.
