Police: Man offered sexual favors to 14-year-old boy

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – Police in Jacksonville Beach say they have arrested a 45-year-old man after he offered sexual favors to a 14-year-old boy.

Police said an incident was reported at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Pier parking lot at 503 First Street North.

The boy told police he was walking by a maroon Chevrolet SUV when Brian Sayers called out to him, police said. The boy said he approached the vehicle and the two had a conversation.

During the conversation, the boy told police Sayers offered sexual favors to him, police said. The boy quickly left the area and said he later saw Sayers drive past him. At that point, police said, the boy was able to obtain a partial tag of Sayers' vehicle.

The boy was able to complete a composite sketch of Sayers and provided investigators with the vehicle's tag information, police said.

The investigation led detectives to a suspect in Atlantic Beach. When investigators arrived at the home, police said they located a vehicle matching the vehicle description provided by the boy.

Police said Sayers was detained for questioning and confessed to investigators.

Sayers was arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious conduct. He was transported to the Duval County jail.
