The deputies found the bird near the intersection of State Road 21 and Old Jennings Road.

They kept an eye on traffic because the bird was getting spooked.

Cindy Mosling, of the rescue group Bird Emergency Aid and Kare Sanctuary, came to take the bird, which has been named Valentine.

A veterinarian says the eagle has no broken bones, and they are now giving it antibiotics and fluids.

They expect the eagle to make a full recovery.
