Woman driving vehicle crashes car, bursts into flames

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police say a car burst into flames after a woman ran her car into a pole when shots were fired into her vehicle on McQuade Street.

According to police, the 20-year-old woman was driving west on McQuade Street on Wednesday when a car driving in the opposite direction fired shots into her car.

Officials said the woman was scared by the shots and ran her car into a nearby JEA pole, causing the car to then burst into flames.

The woman was treated for injuries she sustained in the accident, but she was not shot. She was transported to a hospital to be evaluated.

Police said the car was destroyed.

Police said they do not have a suspect and they are investigating this incident.
