TOKYO – A Japanese man who has perfected the art of moving like a monkey smashed his own world record for sprinting on all fours on Thursday.
Kenichi Ito covered 100 meters on his arms and legs in just 16.87 seconds, beating his 2012 record of 17.47 seconds by more than half a second.

The 30-year-old has been training for more than a decade, and has been dedicated to studying how primates move. His training includes watching videos of monkeys and making visits to the zoo.
Ito hopes racing on all fours will one day become an official track and field event.
