JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The driver of a minivan suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash on Interstate 295 in Mandarin on Friday afternoon, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
State troopers said the minivan rear-ended an F-150 pickup truck
near the Old St. Augustine Road exit just before 4 p.m., and the minivan veered into the guardrail.
The driver, 41-year-old Matthew Thompson, was flown to UF Health Jacksonville.
No one in the pickup truck was hurt.
The crash blocked several lanes of traffic.
