Strip club killing still unsolved

Brandon Green, 21, killed at Mascara's Gentleman's Club

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – It's been six months and there are still no answers for the family of a 21-year-old who was gunned down inside a Jacksonville nightclub. It happened at Mascara's Gentlemen's Club in September.

Brandon Green's mother said investigators know who fired the shot, but said they don't have enough evidence to make an arrest.

Harriet McNeal told Channel 4 it happened because someone thought Brandon stepped on his shoe. She said that's why Green was killed. Since the shooting, she's been meeting at Mascara's, passing out fliers, all in hopes of finding new information. She wants the killer to know she's not giving up.

"He was killed in front of 300 people. No one will come forward," McNeal said. "We miss Brandon very much. It's just so hard going on day by day without him. You know, he leaves the house one night and he's gone forever. The state attorney's office still won't put a warrant out on him. They said there's just not enough evidence right now."

McNeal said she believes surveillance footage from the club may give police the hard proof they need, but have been told it's missing. She said her son's death has been especially hard on his daughter, who turns 2 years old next month.

"She comes here and she looks at all the pictures, kisses them, and says 'Da da'. I don't know what to tell her," McNeal said.

To help turn her grief into action, McNeal now marches with MAD DADS to keep her son's case, and others, alive. And on this somber anniversary she also has a message for the person who killed her son.

"I want him to know and I hope he's watching, to let him know that we're not going anywhere until he is caught and put in jail," McNeal said.

A $1,000 reward has been offered in this case. Anyone who was there that night, who can offer new information to bring this killer to justice is asked to call Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
