Man, 21, receives life in prison for shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Jacksonville man who was on trial for paralyzing a woman after shooting her in October 2012 received life in prison Wednesday.

Denard William Robinson, 21, was sentenced after being convicted in February on one count of attempted murder in the second-degree.

According to the state attorney's office, Robinson and two others were in an argument over drugs that led to a shootout in Jacksonville Beach.

Lesha Mann, 26, who was walking her dog nearby, was struck by one of the bullets, paralyzing her from the waist down.
