JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a fire to a home in the Brentwood area, early Friday morning.
Just before 3 a.m. the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was dispatched to a home on West 22nd Street, near Silver Street, in reference to a fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze.
JFRD said the house was abandoned and it appears that vagrants set a fire to stay warm, then fled when the house went up in flames.
