Crews fix hole in highway

Hole noticed in center lane of I-95 Sunday morning

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol says lanes of Interstate 95 were closed to repair a hole that opened in the road.

The hole is about three feet in diameter, and is in the center lane of the highway. The hole is near the exit for Philips Highway and southbound traffic will be affected.

Troopers say they learned about the hole at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday. The center and right southbound lanes were closed as crews worked to address the problem.

This comes six days after a hole opened on I-95 near the Fuller Warren Bridge, that forced crews to close southbound lanes for 12 hours.
