JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An elderly driver was captured on video driving the wrong way down Interstate 295 southbound Monday afternoon.
A viewer told News4Jax the driver was spotted going the wrong way near Baymeadows Road. Police were able to pull the disoriented driver over near Gate Parkway.
Apparently the driver had been going the wrong way on I-295 since the 9B interchange.
Police driving down the northbound lanes followed the driver for some time trying to avert a head-on crash.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was taken into custody. It's unclear what the charge was.
