Kittens rescued by St. Johns County official

5 kittens were left in container on SR 312 in St. Augustine

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Five little kittens are warm and safe after being rescued by someone from the St. Johns County Road and Bridge Department Tuesday.

Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue said the kittens were dumped in a container in the heavy rain on State Road 312 in St. Augustine.

A member from the Road and Bridge Department saw the kitties and rescued them.

The kittens are now in the care of Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue, where they will be thoroughly checked over by a veterinarian.

Wags and Whiskers is a a non-profit organization that rescues cats and dogs in St. Augustine and North East Florida.
