ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. – A man and woman are wanted for cashing fraudulent checks at the Vilano Beach Publix in June.

In a 10-minute span on the evening of June 26, the two cashed separate checks made out to fictitious names totaling nearly $1,000. The checks were made to appear as if they originated from a Gate Petroleum store utilizing the Bank of America routing information.

Last month, store officials discovered the checks were fraudulent and obtained surveillance images of the two suspects.

The only description of the two suspects is that they appear to be in their late 20s.

Anyone with any information concerning the identities of these individuals is asked to contact St. Johns County Sheriff's Office Detective Buck at 904-824-8304 or by email at jbuck@sjso.org. You can also remain anonymous and possibly be eligible for a cash reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 888-277-TIPS.
