PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A man was severely burned when a meth lab exploded and caught a home on fire late Sunday night in Putnam County, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Jason Aaron May (pictured above), 38, lived in the home on Bonita Drive in Bostwick. Deputies said May told them he was in the process of cooking meth, which caught fire and blew up.

The home immediately caught on fire.
Jesse White, who lives near the home, says the explosion woke him and his dogs up. He says the explosion sounded like a shotgun going off.
"From what I understand, he was in the back corner of the bedroom and apparently it blew up in his lap," said White. "I come outside and there was about 3 or 4 people out at that time and one of them was on fire calling for water .... I didn't actually see the guy on fire but the next thing I know he was running around naked."
White said drugs have been a problem in the area.
"I've told them a hundred times to clean their act up," said White.
Investigators said May received burns to his upper body and both arms. He was flown to UF Shands in Gainesville.
Another resident in the home, Lynn Renee Clouse, 33, said she heard May screaming as he was being burned and she attempted to extinguish the fire with a blanket.
Clouse did not appear to be hurt, but she was taken to the Putnam Community Medical Center as a precaution.
Deputies did not say whether May would face charges.
Investigators said all evidence of the meth lab was destroyed in the fire. The State Fire Marshal's Office is still investigating.
