BAKER COUNTY, Fla – The Baker County Sheriff's Office says it has sent a sworn complaint against Chris Barton for battery in a detention facility to the state attorney's office. If the charge is formally filed, it would be a misdemeanor.
A source tells News4Jax Barton attacked Ransom Barefoot while the two were in jail.

Barefoot has maintained that he is the biological father of Lonzie Barton, the toddler who disappeared from a Southside apartment complex last July.
Chris Barton has disputed that claim. He and Lonzie's mother, Lonna Barton, were separated when Lonzie disappeared. Lonna's boyfriend at the time, Ruben Ebron, is the prime suspect in the boy's disappearance.
This week, Ebron led police to a wooded area where a child's remains were found. Police said they strongly believe the remains are Lonzie's.
