JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An armed man believed to be suicidal has surrendered to police after barricading himself inside a motel room in the Baymeadows area, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
Police said the man is 61 years old.

Police surrounded the area on Baymeadows Road near Baymeadows Way and secured a perimeter, moving people away from the area.
SWAT officers were not called to the scene, police said.
