Lobbying firm hits $250K in 2nd quarter

Fiorentino Group collects payments from clients such as UF Health Jacksonville

With quarterly numbers gradually trickling in, two lobbying firms have reported earning at least $250,000 for their work lobbying the Legislature from April 1 through June 30, according to a state lobbyist-compensation website.

Among early filers, the firms Heffley & Associates and The Fiorentino Group each reported earning between $250,000 and $499,999 during the quarter. Lobbying firms are required to file the reports by an Aug. 14 deadline.

The reports list the lobbying firms' clients and typically include ranges of payment amounts. For example, Heffley & Associates and The Fiorentino Group each listed a number of clients that paid between $20,000 and $29,999 during the quarter.

Among the Heffley & Associates clients paying in that range was the Florida Medical Association, while The Fiorentino Group collected similar amounts from clients such as UF Health Jacksonville, the reports show.

Meanwhile, among other early filers, the firms Capitol Energy Florida and Capital Solutions LLC each reported getting paid between $100,000 and $249,999 during the quarter for their legislative lobbying work.
