Corrections deputy accused of introducing contraband into detention facility

Baker County Sheriff's Office says Jason Barnett arrested Wednesday

BAKER COUNTY, Fla. – A corrections deputy was arrested Wednesday on a charge of introducing contraband into a detention facility, the Baker County Sheriff's Office said. 

Jason Barnett was taken into custody at the Sheriff's Office, booked and then transferred to a neighboring jail as a standard security measure, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Baker County Sheriff Joey Dobson said that all members of the agency were saddened by the breach of public trust in the case.

Barnett's bond was set at $25,000 and he was placed on unpaid suspension pending termination proceedings, the Sheriff's Office said.
