GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville police are investigating a case of attempted sexual battery near the University of Florida Campus.
It happened early Sunday morning on Southwest 8th Street near University Avenue. Police report an 18-year-old woman became separated from her friends and a man pulled her into a dark area off the sidewalk.
The woman was able to fight back and run away.
The suspect is described as a white male, in his early twenties around 6 feet tall with short dark brown hair, brown eyes, a tan complexion and a muscular build.
