Bartram High teen charged with possession, sale of cocaine at school

A 15-year-old Bartram Trail High School student was arrested at the school Thursday and charged with possession and sale of cocaine, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.

Acting on a tip, school officials called Chelsea Wenzel to the nurse’s office, where she was searched. A small baggie of cocaine and $25 in cash and a straw were hidden in her bra, according to the arrest report.

According to the arrest report, Wenzel admitted she sold cocaine at school.

"We are taking the appropriate steps on school-based consequences," said Cristina Langston, spokeswoman for St. Johns County schools. "This is a Level 4 infraction, and will also be forwarded to the district's discipline committee for review and further action. This Level 4 infraction is one of the most serious breaches of student conduct within the district."
