Crash causes power outages in Orange Park

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman drove off the road and hit a utility pole early Sunday morning, causing a power outage in Orange Park, the Clay County Sheriff Office said.

The crash happened in front of the Holly Cove apartment complex and Outback Steakhouse. A witness told News4Jax that a telephone pole was split in half.

About 572 people are without power, according to Clay Electric's website.Clay Electric crews are at the scene and power is expected to be restored later this morning. 

The driver, who was not injured, was charged with reckless driving.
