PORT ORANGE, Fla. – A statewide alert for a missing 13-year-old boy was canceled Friday evening after he was found safe, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.
Investigators said they began looking for Carlos Patterson after he was last seen Thursday in the area of Airport Road in Volusia County.

Port Orange police said Patterson stole a vehicle from the Whispering Woods Condominiums and had not been seen since.
The stolen vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition, police said.
Port Orange police said Patterson has a history of stealing cars.
