Governor orders flags lowered for Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on Wednesday in honor of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.

Wednesday marks 75 years since the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was attacked by naval forces of the Japanese Empire.

More than 2,400 American lives were lost in the attack.

Along with ordering flags to half-staff, Scott encouraged people to observe the day with ceremonies and activities to remember and honor those who died.
