Man in custody after cross county chase

UNION COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested Thursday morning following a multi-county chase. 

According to the Union County Sheriff's Office, the man was driving a stolen vehicle containing several weapons inside.

Deputies from the Columbia County Sheriff's office were called to assist in the chase. According to deputies, the man stole a vehicle in Union County and led officers down County Road 18 from Union to Columbia County then back to Union County.  Once back in that county, he ran into the woods, where he was caught.

The sheriff's office tells us the man was thought to be armed and dangerous. This article will be updated as soon as more information is received.
