Callahan woman critically injured in US 301 crash

FHP: 2-year-old, 3 others suffer minor injuries

BALDWIN, Fla. – A Callahan woman was critically injured and four others sustained minor injuries in a crash Friday afternoon on U.S. 301, just north of Interstate 10, in Baldwin, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash involving a semi truck and two cars was reported about 2:30 p.m. and shut down all lanes of U.S. 301 for several hours.

The driver of a Chevrolet Cavalier, 32-year-old Samantha Edmondson, was transported to UF Health Jacksonville with critical injuries, troopers said. The 2-year-old passenger in her vehicle was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries, FHP said.

Troopers said 46-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Silverado and the two passengers in the pickup truck -- a 17-year-old boy and 47-year-old woman -- all suffered minor injuries. Both passengers were taken to Fraser Hospital, but the driver did not have to be transported, according to FHP.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

The Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
