Widespread Comcast outage in NE Florida repaired

Fiber line cut on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A Comcast internet and cable outage in Northeast Florida that impacted service to thousands of subscribers has been repaired.

News4JAX has learned that a road construction crew hit and cut the fiber line near Comcast's Westside offices, which provides service to many residents in Jacksonville and Orange Park.

Service was restored Sunday morning and a spokesperson with Comcast said that business and residential customers who were affected by the outage can call the internet and cable service provider to discuss potential discounts, contact their service representative or use social media if wait times are too long.

Spokesperson Cindy Arco told News4Jax that the company wants to make sure that business owners are happy with their service.

If customers use social media, they are reminded not to put account numbers on social media.
