The Players Tournament holds annual Military Veterans' Job Fair

Golf tournament offers annual free job fair

It's something The Players Tournament is known for: Honoring our veterans. Saturday, it held its sixth annual Military Veterans' Job Fair.

The Players Tournament hasn't teed off yet, but as always, the golf tournament is offering an annual free job fair to active duty, reserve, retired military, veterans, as well as military spouses.

Christina McKesey is transitioning out of the Navy and was recently hired on the spot at the job fair for a job at Hanania Automotive Group.

"Those scared, it's going to be a challenge, but if you want to you can. If you're really determined to get out and transition to do something you are really passionate about, I recommend you do it," McKesey said.

"We felt like this was a great opportunity to hire talented enthusiastic dedicated leaders that have led and defended our country to join our family team," said Jack Hanania II, of Hanania Auto Group.

There were 58 companies on hand all with hiring opportunities. Free career counseling and resume-writing assistance were also provided.

The job fair has attracted 400 job seekers in the past. Many employers value hiring these men and women because of the characteristics they have from the military.

"The firm handshake and the eye contact, it means a lot. Just everyday core values, it helps you, so we are very fortunate," Howard Wanamaker said.

Anyone who missed Saturday's job fair but is a part of the military community can attend The Players Tournament for free, as well as receive honors at its annual military concert this upcoming week, which will feature Sam Hunt.
