Feds arrest man wanted in Orange Park sexual battery case
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Federal and local investigators tracked down a man Tuesday who was wanted in connection with the sexual battery of a child.
U.S. Marshals arrested Hillman Patten II without incident at an apartment complex on Argyle Forest Boulevard off Interstate 295, authorities said.
Patten, 24, was booked into the Clay County jail on a felony charge of sexual battery on 13-year-old girl, as well as a probation violation, jail records show.
According to the arrest avadavat, the girl told her mother that she had sex with an adult named David after corresponding with him on a dating website. Investigators were told Patten came to the girl's apartment when only the she and her 9-year-old sister were home, followed the older sister to a bedroom and had sex with her.
The Clay County Sheriff's Office said Patten was also sought in connection with a 2016 case involving the sexual battery of a child.
Patten was ordered held without bond and he told a judge Wednesday morning that he had money for his own attorney. He will be back in court April 25.
He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim and to not return to a Park Avenue address.
