JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man was arrested Tuesday after a woman was shot multiple times in New Town, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Alex Harold Rackley Jr., 58, is charged with attempted murder.

Police said a woman with multiple gunshot wounds was found just after 1 a.m. Tuesday inside a home on West First Street, just south of Kings Road. Police said the woman, who was described as being in her 30s, was taken to a hospital.
