Baby girl might be biggest ever born at Orange Park Medical Center

She is already nearly 2 feet long and wearing 6-month-old clothes

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Dr. Eric Edelenbos has been delivering babies for 14 years. But he never delivered one like this.

Meet Carleigh Brooke Corbitt, born at Orange Park Medical Center at 1:10 p.m. on May 15. Carleigh came into the world tipping the scales at a cuddly 13 pounds, 5 ounces. She was 22 1/2 inches long at birth with a 15 3/8 inch head.

Her parents, Christine and Larry Corbitt, said that personnel at the hospital told them that Carleigh might be the second-largest baby ever delivered at the hospital and the biggest girl ever born there. After a few days in the neonatal intensive care for low blood sugar, mother and baby are back home.

The Corbitts said Carleigh is already wearing 6-month-old clothes and all the newborn clothes they had won't fit her. She's also in size 2 diapers already.

Dad said that the Orange Park Medical Center delivery and labor unit "is awesome. They are really good at their job and made our stay there great."

The Corbitts also praised Dr. Edelenbos, who they said "was truly a blessing to us. Helped us through it all."
