4 arrested after meth materials found at motel

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Orange Park Police said they found materials used to make methamphetamine inside a motel Sunday.  

Chief of police Gary Goble said officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a chemical smell coming from the Roadway Inn on Park Ave.

Police said a Clay County Sheriff's Office K-9 alerted to Room 165 and the people in the room consented to a search.

Goble said items commonly used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine were found in the room, but there was no active manufacturing going on.

On Monday the Clay County Sheriff's Office said four Orange Park residents were arrested:

  • Simon Abel, 20, charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia
  • Jessica Carpenter, 33, charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine
  • Ashley Lord, 30, charged with possession of a controlled substance
  • Michael St. Angelo, 46, charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine
