According to the report on the new felony charge, Marla D'Andrea threw her breakfast tray at a corrections officer on July 14, and that officer pepper-sprayed her and went into the cell with another officer to restrain her.

The first officer and D’Andrea grappled and fell to the floor, and D’Andrea dug her fingernails into the officer’s neck and jaw, the report said. The second officer injured her knee. A third officer stunned D’Andrea with a Taser, and she was put into handcuffs, the report said.

D’Andrea is scheduled for arraignment on the murder Aug. 3.

Barbara D'Andrea was found dead June 30 in her daughter's apartment at the corner of 10th Street North and First Avenue North. After Barbara's body was found in Marla's apartment, police notified the Florida Department of Law Enforcement that Marla D'Andrea and her son were missing.

About an hour and a half after FDLE issued a missing and endangered child alert, police said the child was found safe with Marla D'Andrea at Orlando International Airport and they were taken into custody without incident.

Marla D'Andrea's son was unharmed and in good health, police said. He was placed in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
