Jeannette Houston (pictured below) was taken into custody shortly after police found her pickup in the restaurant at 1106 N. Ponce De Leon Blvd. about 2:15 a.m., according to Sgt. Jennifer Michaox. Officers said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Houston, and they said her eyes were red and watery and her speech was slurred.

Three people were inside the truck when it went through the glass wall, but none were injured.

The truck came to a stop fully inside the restaurant, almost to the counter where customers order their food. Officers said if customers were in the dining room at the time of the crash, there would have been injuries.

The McDonald's is open 24 hours, but drive-through only is open in the overnight hours.

"They could have killed somebody. Crazy," customer Shiloh Rosenfeld said while waiting in the drive-through line, which remained open while repairs were under way on the restaurant.

"I'm glad I wasn't there, that's for sure," said Erin Morant, another customer.

Houston was arrested and booked into the St. Johns County jail.
