JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man who shot a 16-year-old during a gunfight near a Captain D's restaurant on Edgewood Avenue North in 2015 was found guilty of attempted murder.
Devraughne Owens, 27, is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 4. He faces a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years, up to life in prison

Owens was also convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to court documents, officers were eating at the fast-food restaurant on Feb. 27, 2015, when they heard gunfire.
Citizens nearby called 911 to report that a man in a traffic vest was running through a neighborhood shooting a large black gun.
One officer saw Owens wearing a yellow traffic vest and carrying a large black gun and a silver revolver, chasing a man into a backyard. Owens shot the victim multiple times as he lay on the ground.
Owens then led officers on a foot chase through the surrounding neighborhood.
During the chase, Owens tossed his 9mm Masterpiece Arms with a suppressor and extended magazine. He hopped fences and also discarded a silver .357 Magnum next to the yellow traffic vest he was wearing.
Owens was taken into custody, and a homemade rap music video was later discovered starring Owens and showing the two firearms he used during the shooting.
