Man found dead of gunshot wound in Brentwood neighborhood

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The homicide unit at the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office was sent to investigate a death Thursday evening in the Brentwood neighborhood.

The scene was on Woodbine Street near the intersection of North Pearl Street. According to the Sheriff’s Office, someone driving along Woodbine noticed the victim on the side of the road not moving and called 911.

Jacksonville Fire and Rescue personnel discovered the victim had a gunshot wound.

There was no description of a suspect. The victim was said to be a 39-year-old man.
