NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. – A man accused of shooting a woman twice in a home in Nassau County on Tuesday is dead after he took his own life, the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office said.
The unidentified man, who lived in the Otter Run subdivision across the street from the victim, came to the victim’s home around 5 p.m. on Tuesday and saw her sitting in an office area at the front of the house.
The Sheriff’s Office said the victim looked up and saw the suspect point a handgun at her before he fired one shot through the window. The man shot the woman again as she tried to run away, she told investigators. She then hid in another room and called 911.
The Sheriff’s Office said the man then took his own life by fatally shooting himself on the front porch.
According to NCSO, there was an ongoing dispute between the man and the woman’s family.
The woman, who was shot twice in the arm, is expected to recover.
The Sheriff’s Office said the shooting is still under investigation.
