18-year-old driver leaves scene after Putnam County school bus crashes into vehicle: FHP

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. – A teen driver left the scene of a crash after a school bus ran into her vehicle Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP report said the crash happened at Fort Gates Ferry Road and Mt. Royal Avenue intersection just before 7 a.m.

Troopers said the school bus, which had 12 students on board, was backing up and hit the front of the 18-year-old’s car. For no specified reason, the teen left the scene.

Authorities later tracked the driver down, and the teen was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

No injuries were reported.
