Mobile Wreaths Across America Tour hits Jacksonville

We had these wonderful photo submissions today from Nicole Ludwig and her family, Stacy Michelle with Jacksonville Area Mopars, and the Speights family!

Wreath Across America’s Museum on Wheels is adding Northeast Florida to its national tour. Over the next several days, the “Mobile Education Exhibit” is making pit stops at three locations in the Jacksonville area.

The location coordinator for Wreaths Across America at the Jacksonville National Cemetery says this interactive exhibit can bridge the gap between the community and veterans while expressing its mission.

“It talks about our veterans, the military, how they have served our country, and the sacrifices that they have made,” said Sue Nist.

The first stop for the exhibit is Monday at the Walmart on County Road 220 in Fleming Island. Tuesday it rolls to the American Legion Post 129 in Jacksonville Beach. Wednesday it will be at the VyStar tower in downtown Jacksonville.

Over the years volunteers have placed more than 3 million wreaths across the country at more than 4,100 cemeteries.

“I hope they understand that specifically here in Jacksonville, we are a military town. We love our veterans,” Nist said.

The goal for Wreaths Across America this year is to place 22,000 wreaths at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in December.
