JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A family of five finally reunited.
After spending seven months deployed in Kuwait, Specialist Elizabeth Delalla is back home in Jacksonville.
The Florida National Guardsman landed at Jacksonville International Airport around 6:15 p.m. Saturday.
Her flight was delayed four hours, but it didn't matter.
Her husband, Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Delalla, saidhe's just thrilled to have her home.
"Lost for words. I don't know what else to say. The house is not the same without my wife. She's the rock and foundation. I always thought I could do it. And I barely did it."
"At first it didn't hit me until I actually saw them. But, it was an agitating just to get here. But it was pretty amazing," Delalla said.
"I think it was God's plan to make us more anxious. To say, hey, you know, you're so close. Just in case you forgot and you're getting back to your old place of forgetting, let me give you four hours more reminder."
For 17-year-old Rosanna, she's thankful to have her best friend home, just in time to do plenty of "girl" stuff.
"I know we're definitely going out. I know we're definitely going out on a little shopping spree soon." Rosanna said.
The family is going to celebrate Christmas together Sunday, since they missed it in December. They're also getting a new puppy. They also said they don't foresee another deployment anytime soon, but for now, all they're thinking about is making up for lost time.
