JSO: Juvenile arrested with car full of drugs

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A juvenile driver is behind bars Monday night after police said they were led on a short chase and found a large amount of narcotics in the person's car after they were arrested.

According to police, officers tried to make a traffic stop around 5:30 p.m. after noticing a driver that was driving erratically and seemed to be impaired.

The driver led police on a short chase that lasted about half a mile before the driver stopped the car on the 3800 block of Aldington Drive and took off on foot, police said.

Officials said the person was eventually arrested after breaking into a home's patio area and trying to steal a bike to get away.

Police reports said that there were no injuries and no damage to the car. Police said they did find a large amount of drugs inside the car and an adult female passenger who was arrested for possession of narcotics and criminal mischief.

Police said the passenger damaged a police car but did not release details on exactly how.

The juvenile driver was arrested on charges of reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, possession of narcotics, burglary and resisting arrest without violence.
