JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Former President Donald Trump’s legal and political challenges intensify. As for Republican challenger Nikki Haley, to paraphrase musician Tom Petty: She won’t back down.

On Tuesday’s live-streaming episode of “Vote 2024: Path to the Polls,” I spoke with Daniel Cronrath, a political science professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville.

We focused on the hefty penalty Trump has to pay E. Jean Carroll and some considerable other legal challenges in the near future and how they might impact his run for the GOP nomination. At the same time, Trump is trying to exert his leverage over Republicans in Congress to stall important legislation.

In addition to Trump, we talked about how President Joe Biden is ratcheting up the rhetoric, how Nikki Haley is still insisting she is the best choice to beat Biden and whether a third-party option is something American voters might buy into.
