JACKSONVILLE, Fla.PFLAG, the United States’ first and largest organization uniting parents, families, and allies with people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+), designated WJXT-4 News4JAX with the honor of the “Safe Newsroom” title.

Our Jacksonville station is the only newsroom in Northeast Florida with this distinction.

News4JAX will be placed on the organization’s list of “Safe Newsrooms” for the LGBTQ+ community.

Local PFLAG Chapter President Cindy Hill-Nobles had this to say about the station’s coverage and willingness to learn:

“We have always walked away from our interviews with WJXT feeling we were represented honestly and fairly, and we thank you all for that,” Hill-Nobles said.

News4JAX continues to strive to make our newsroom an accepting and safe environment for those we employ and for the communities who trust us to share their stories and keep them informed on the issues that matter most.
