Jaguars WR Shorts out on Sunday

Fourth-year Jaguars receiver did not make trip to Philadelphia

Cecil Shorts will miss Sunday's season opener with a hamstring injury.

PHILADELPHIA – The Jaguars will be without their top wide receiver against the Eagles as Cecil Shorts will miss the season opener with tightness in his left hamstring.

Shorts was listed as questionable on Friday but he did not make the trip to Philadelphia. Without Shorts in the lineup, the Jaguars are down to four wide receivers. That includes three rookies: second-round picks Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson along with undrafted free agent Allen Hurns.

Mike Brown is the lone receiver with NFL experience. He enters his second year in the league with 32 career catches.

Shorts left Thursday's practice early due to tightness in his left hamstring. He missed the first two preseason games of 2014 with tightness in his right hamstring.

The Jaguars face the Eagles on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Philadelphia.
