Lee's full return highlights day No. 10 of Jaguars training camp

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Monday marked the first time that Jaguars wide receiver Marqise Lee participated in a full practice since the first day of training camp. Back on July 27th Lee experienced a slight hamstring pull and missed the next seven practices during training camp.

Over the course of his first three seasons in the NFL, Lee has experienced knee, ankle and hamstring injuries. From the very first day this latest setback happened, Lee has expressed that it wasn’t as serious as some of his previous ailments.

On Sunday Lee returned the practice field on a limited basis. After speaking with the Jaguars training staff they felt Lee was ready to return to practice in full on Monday.

“It’s great to get back,” Lee said. “It’s good to be out there with teammates. I was a little rusty, but it felt good.”

A hamstring issue caused Lee to miss all four preseason games in 2015. Given his injury history the Jaguars are going to be cautious with Lee and they haven’t made a decision on if he’ll play on Thursday against the Jets.

“Yeah, you might see him maybe in a sheet when we look at maybe not practicing tomorrow,” said Jaguars head coach Gus Bradley. We’ll see how he recovers today and then just make a decision from there. All the rotations, the starters, how we’re going to go about doing it, we’re having a personnel meeting about it tomorrow night.”

Other news and Notes:

-As his been the case over the past couple of days several veterans were given Monday off. Running back Chris Ivory, wide receiver Allen Robinson, and defensive lineman Dante Fowler Jr. and Roy Miller all had pre-scheduled days off.

-A couple of other veterans are dealing with minor injuries and didn’t practice as well. Defensive end Jared Odrick and defensive tackle Malik Jackson fit in that category.

-Offensive tackle Kelvin Beachum dressed in full pads for the second straight practice but worked out on the side. He’s unlikely to play on Thursday but Gus Bradley isn’t ready to completely rule him out just yet.

-As a team the Jaguars briefly began preparing for the Jets.

“What we did was we introduced the Jets today,” said Bradley. “Now we had one period, we’re not going to put a lot of concentrated effort in this as far as game planning. Just an introduction, maybe a period here, a period tomorrow. We really want to play with our rules, rules ball. Go out there and really concentrate.”
