CDC will alert doctors to look out for syndrome in children that could be related to coronavirus
An informal panel of pediatricians organized by Boston Children's Hospital have dubbed the mysterious illness "Pediatric Multi-System Inflammatory Syndrome Potentially Associated with COVID-19." Doctors will be asked to report cases to state and local health departments so that the CDC can learn about the syndrome. And Boston Children's Hospital spokeswoman Erin Tornatore told CNN Tuesday two children with the syndrome were hospitalized there, but neither was in intensive care. Dr. Jeffrey Burns, chief of critical care medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, coordinates the panel. Some children have only needed supportive care,โ Boston Childrenโs Hospital said on its website.
Mini police cruisers brighten spirits at children's hospital
A man known for his charity bicycle programs has partnered with several local police departments and donated miniature Power Wheels police cruisers to Boston Children's Hospital. Instead of children walking or being pushed in a wheelchair around the hospital, kids will now be able to have fun while riding in style. Cruisers were donated by police departments from Holyoke, Chicopee, East Hampton and Greenfield. "It's nice to have something to look forward to," said Officer Cody Guilbault of the Greenfield, Massachusetts, police department. You know it's easy to get lost in the stress, so when you do something like this it unites everybody."
